Roles and Responsibilities

Handle cargo claims, supervise cargo claim handling and coordinate legal defense strategies within GHQReview and draft contracts and advise business unitsEngage in data analysis and loss preventionAnalyze claims data and trends, and develop and implement strategic risk-mitigation and loss-prevention programs across business units.Monitor and advise on compliance matters affecting global maritime operationsHandle related administrative tasks related to P&I insurance and maritime claimsHandle corporate legal, insurance and compliance tasksSupport in any ad hoc tasks as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor of Law (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D) degree from a recognized institution, with qualification to practiceA minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience either in private practice or as an in-house legal counselExperience working in a maritime law firm or maritime company is preferredSolid understanding of maritime industry practices, cargo claims, and marine insurance frameworksAbility to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional global teamsGood verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical, data-handling, and organizational skills with sharp attention to detai
