Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day mall finance operations and ensure timely, accurate month-end closing and management reporting.
  • Review and approve journals, schedules, reconciliations, and month-end deliverables prepared by the Accountant.
  • Supervise the Accountant's work plan and performance; provide coaching, guidance, and technical review.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and statutory requirements; drive remediation of control gaps.
  • Lead balance sheet governance: review key account reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution of aged items.
  • Coordinate and support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (retail tenancy coordination, operations, marketing) and external parties (auditors, tax agents, banks) as required.
  • Support internal and external audits: coordinate schedules, prepare requested information, and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and system implementation/enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform ad hoc finance tasks/projects as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Education Background: Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 6-10 years relevant accounting/finance experience; shopping centre/commercial real estate experience is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in supervising/reviewing another accountant's work is preferred.

Other Prerequisites

  • Strong knowledge of month-end closing, GL, AP processes, and account reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to explain variances and business drivers clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; able to coordinate across functions.
  • High attention to detail, good time management, and ability to work under tight timelines.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with ERP/accounting systems and operational systems.
