Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to lead financial management activities for our MCST portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective team supervision to support council operations, enhance client satisfaction, and drive overall operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of accounting staff to deliver accurate bookkeeping and timely financial reports for MCST.
  • Review monthly financial statements and reports to resolve client queries effectively
  • Work closely with MCST councils to address financial matters and provide clear, timely advice
  • Analyze budget reports and assist in budget preparation to support financial planning
  • Review and approve journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly billing processes to maintain revenue accuracy
  • Monitor accounts receivable ageing reports and enforce collection protocols to optimize cash inflows
  • Manage fixed deposit accounts to maximize returns and ensure liquidity
  • Monitor cash flow to maintain sufficient operational funds and prevent shortfalls
  • Review accounts payable ageing and resolve payment issues to maintain vendor relationships
  • Evaluate and strengthen internal controls by collaborating with other departments to mitigate risks
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and company policies to uphold governance
  • Coordinate year-end audit and tax computation processes to meet deadlines and regulatory requirements
  • Manage timely submission of GST, CPF, and tax filings to maintain statutory compliance
  • Liaise with clients, auditors, tax agents, bankers, and MCST councils to facilitate smooth financial operations
  • Maintain proper accounting filing systems to ensure document accuracy and accessibility
  • Execute ad-hoc financial assignments as required to support business needs

Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management, with proven supervisory experience
  • Prior experience handling MCST portfolios and working with management councils is an advantage
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage and guide an existing team to maximize performance and output
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to attend stakeholder meetings and briefings, and effectively present and explain financial statements and related financial information
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines, including statutory, regulatory, and MCST reporting requirements
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and relevant regulations
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, andstrong management skills
