Job Description

This role focuses on compliance matters related to sanctions, anti-money laundering (AML), and regulatory requirements within a trading environment. The incumbent is expected to support business operations from a compliance perspective, with a hands-on, business-facing approach that requires practical judgement rather than purely legal or advisory work.

Candidates with compliance experience in trading, commodities or energy-related industries will be highly preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and assess regulatory developments, particularly in sanctions, AML and relevant compliance frameworks, and provide practical guidance to business. Timely provide the assessment and recommendations to Company's Management and business department especially the compliance issues which have a significant impact on the company's interests;

2. Act as a key advisor to business teams on sanctions, anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-terrorism financing (ATF) matters, and formulate systematic procedures to the management for their approval;

3. Deliver compliance training, enhance employees awareness of compliance risks, and promote a strong compliance culture;

4. Lead or support the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures, in alignment with group requirements.

5. Assess the compliance of existing and new business activities, including projects and initiatives, and analyse their impact on the Company. Provide recommendations and propose improvements where necessary;

6. Conduct compliance reviews or investigations as required by management;

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Compliance, Business, Law or a related field;

2. Min. 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a similar capacity;

3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders;

4. Strong attention to detail, with sound analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information and exercise judgement;

5. High level of integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork;

6. Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;

7. Strong proficiency in both Chinese and English (written and spoken) is essential, due to the nature of the role and business requirements. This role involves extensive review and interpretation of Chinese-language policies and regulatory documents (including group-level frameworks), as well as drafting and reviewing bilingual corporate materials. The incumbent will also be required to communicate regularly with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and the headquarters. Candidates who are unable to work effectively with Chinese-language policies and documentation may find it challenging to perform in this role.
