Job Description

NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore (NTU CCA) is a national research centre of Nanyang Technological University. NTU CCA configures itself as a space for critical discourse, encouraging new ways of thinking about the spaces of the curatorial in Southeast Asia and beyond. Located within Singapore's visual arts precinct, Gillman Barracks, the Centre focuses on curatorial practice as research that converges multiple systems of knowledge and transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries to support the sustainability of biocultural environments. Through exhibitions, residencies, research initiatives, and academic education, the Centre is committed to advancing art and interdisciplinary innovation in Singapore, the Asia-Pacific region, and internationally.

The Master of Art in Museum Studies and Curatorial Practices (MSCP) at Nanyang Technological University-one of the most respected and dynamic programmes in its field in Southeast Asia. The MA MSCP programme is administered under NTU CCA.

The Centre is embarking on a new phase, grounded in its long standing focus on climate futures, as a capacity builder, convenor, and an incubator, with the remit of foregrounding interdisciplinary experimentation and novel biocultural approaches. NTU CCA Singapore seeks to position NTU and Singapore as regional leaders in art-science research, establishing a platform where artistic practices, cultural inquiry and scientific insights meet to shape more sustainable, imaginative, and equitable worlds.

Role Overview:

The Assistant Manager, Communications & Programme is responsible for shaping and delivering the Centre's public-facing communications and programme activities. The role oversees strategic communications, content development, and audience engagement across digital and print platforms, while supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of artistic, research, and public programmes.

Working closely with curatorial, research, academic, and administrative teams, the Assistant Manager, Communications & Programme ensures that the Centre's vision, research priorities, and programmes are communicated clearly, creatively, and consistently to diverse audiences. The role plays a key part in strengthening the Centre's profile, visibility, and impact within the arts, cultural and academic sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Campaigns:

Assist in the planning, development, and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, including website, digital archive platform, social media, email, newsletters and offline channels.

  • Content Creation:

Work closely with the different stakeholders and assist in the creation of marketing content, including social mediaposts, emails, and promotional materials.

  • Social Media Management:

Manage and update website and social media profiles, prepare and schedule posts.

  • Event and Project management:

Organise media events and provide support in developing and delivering of thematic festival, events or conferences.

  • Fund raising initiative:

Work in tandem with the Programming & research team to develop and implement compelling narratives to achieve grants and fundraising objectives while collaborating on operationalizing major events to drive objectives set.

Job requirements:

  • University degree in the arts, social sciences, humanities or related discipline.

  • Minimum of two years relevant experience in the arts sector or a similar role.

  • Given the need for strong editorial and content production experience for diverse audiences, excellent proficiency in English is essential.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and work independently under tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, Adobe suite, Vimeo, Omeka, WordPress, Mailchimp etc.

  • Excellent project management skills including programme design, team coordination, stakeholders engagement.

  • Competency in planning and implementation of communication of contemporary programmes.

  • Results driven, resourceful, self-motivated and versatile team player.
