Job Description

We welcome you to join our team as:

ASSISTANT MANAGER AND BAILIFF (1-YEAR CONTRACT)

The Registry is responsible for the management and disposal of cases which includes the processing, storing and retrieval of court documents, as well as fixing hearings for matters commencing in the Supreme Court.

The officer is expected to:

. Manage cases filed in the Supreme Court through analysing, reviewing, monitoring and processing documents in accordance with the applicable rules, practice directions, standard operating procedures and policies

. Draft and/or prepare case summaries, reports, notices or general correspondence and liaise with lawyers, self-represented persons, internal and external stakeholders (including other government agencies) to facilitate the efficient disposal of cases

. Process applications involving the arrest or release of vessels

. Carry out field operations for various enforcement orders, including enforcement orders for seizure and sale of property, and for delivery of possession of immovable property (which involve evictions)

. Monitor hearings for committal orders, and coordinate with the Singapore Police Force for the arrest of the committal respondent

. Carry out related administrative work to follow-through on the cases and enforcement matters, including preparing statements of accounts for applicable cases or matters

. Compile and maintain accurate and up-to-date case information and records, and statistics on caseload and disposal

. Review and streamline existing operational processes to improve quality and productivity

. Participate as a team member and be involved in projects which affect the operations of the Registry and

. Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisors.

Requirements:

. Preferably 2 - 3 years working experience in Enforcement or Investigative work

. Strong administrative and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and accountability for public resources

. Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as excellent professional conduct when dealing with members of the public, legal practitioners, external stakeholders and court staff

. Able to work under time pressure

. Well organised and meticulous, with commitment to deliver high quality work

. Pro-active and be able to work independently as well as in a team

. Must possess highest standards of integrity and trustworthiness
