Responsibilities
This role within the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Office supports group-level portfolio management to ensure priorities are translated into clear roadmaps and delivered with discipline. The Assistant Lead, Program Management will establish standards to drive consistent execution across complex, cross-functional AI, IT, and technology programmes. This role partners closely with Technology leaders to ensure alignment on scope, architecture and dependencies, timelines, risks, and outcomes, enabling timely decision-making and transparent portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of strategic technology and AI initiatives sponsored by the CTO Office, from shaping scope and business outcomes through execution and adoption.
- Translate priorities into roadmaps, program plans, milestones, and governance mechanisms across business and technology teams.
- Stand up and run program governance including steering forums, decision logs, RAID management, dependency tracking, and delivery health reviews.
- Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, architecture, data, security, product, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution discipline.
- Support enterprise AI initiatives by coordinating use-case intake, prioritization, implementation planning, change readiness, and value realization tracking.
- Establish consistent operating standards for strategic programs, including planning templates, status reporting, resource visibility, and benefits tracking.
- Identify delivery risks, organizational blockers, and decision gaps early, then drive issue resolution with clear escalation paths and practical recommendations.
- Partner with senior leaders to prepare materials for leadership meetings, transformation reviews, and key CTO Office forums.
- Monitor outcomes, KPIs, and program performance to ensure initiatives deliver against strategic, operational, financial, and adoption objectives.
- Build a strong execution culture within the CTO Office by improving ways of working, governance maturity, and cross-team accountability.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Technology delivery, IT programme/project management, agile delivery, or technology operations in a complex matrix organisation
- Proven experience delivering enterprise AI, data, or digital transformation programs end-to-end — ideally including generative AI rollouts, AI platform stand-ups, or large-scale technology adoption.
- Strong understanding of strategic technology domains such as enterprise platforms, architecture, data, cybersecurity, digital transformation, or engineering operations.
- Experience driving delivery transformation and adoption of new ways of working (e.g., AI-enabled delivery, automation, standardisation) across multiple teams
- Strong structuring and problem-solving skills; able to translate ambiguity and technical complexity into clear plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes
- Strong facilitation and influencing skills; comfortable challenging constructively and driving decisions without formal authority across Technology and Business stakeholders
- Demonstrated understanding of delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
