Position Statement

The Assistant Information Technology Manager is responsible for the implementation of Information Technology in the hotel in accordance with Hilton's Information Technology strategies and priorities, as well as measuring information technology costs, benefits and performance in the hotel and providing this information to hotel management and the Information Systems Manager.

Responsibilities

What will I be doing

As the Assistant Information Technology Manager, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Maximize and protect hotel profitability through the leverage of IT, training and operational best practices.
  • Provide reliable, secure, and efficient IT services to support hotel operations, guest services, and business functions.
  • Ensure IT systems, networks, applications, and infrastructure operate in accordance with agreed service levels and brand standards.
  • Manage and resolve guest and team member IT queries promptly, minimizing operational and security risks.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and incidents, escalating issues as required.
  • Ensure telephony, network, and guest-facing technologies meet minimum brand and operational standards.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce IT operating costs through effective use of resources and vendor management.
  • Support the preparation, monitoring, and control of the IT budget in line with approved plans.
  • Provide IT support to other Hilton hotels when required.
  • Cross train other hotel IT personnel to provide cover.
  • Maintain standards and best practices in the hotel and evaluate compliance.
  • Support negotiations with local vendors and service providers where delegated.
  • Ensure that hotel data is secured and in line with stated standards and best practices.
  • Ensure regular self-evaluations of IT practices are completed and communicated, ensuring server room access registration and safety.
  • Ensure backups and recovery processes are functioning and tested according to standards.
  • Ensure access control is in line with stated standards and best practices.
  • Ensure IT resources are maintained in the hotel to support the commercial & business needs.
  • Identify and ensure all hotel data has ownership and accountability within the organization.
  • Support access control management to ensure appropriate system permissions and data ownership.
  • Adhere to hotel security, data protection, and emergency policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining, documenting, and testing business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Participate in regular disaster recovery drills, including familiarizing operational departments with manual procedures when required.
  • Communicate status, risks, opportunities to GM, hotel management and Regional & Area IT management.
  • Adhere to the hotel's security and emergency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all team members have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel's team member rules and regulations.
  • Manage local implementation projects.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives within the hotel, including automation, cloud adoption.
  • Lead cybersecurity governance, including vulnerability assessments, patch management and incident response planning.
  • Oversee asset lifecycle management including procurement, inventory tracking, maintenance, and disposal compliance.

An Assistant Information Technology Manager serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • University degree, majoring in IT, with relevant certificate(s).
  • At least 3 years of experience in the same position in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
