Role Description

This is a technical and operational support role for an Assistant IT Manager, responsible for assisting in the management of information technology systems, infrastructure, and daily IT operations. The role focuses on supporting system performance, ensuring technical efficiency, and helping maintain secure and reliable IT services within an organization.

The Assistant IT Manager is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, networks, and computer systems. This includes monitoring system performance, resolving technical issues, and assisting users with IT-related support requests in a timely and professional manner.

A key responsibility of the role is assisting with IT infrastructure management, including servers, network devices, user accounts, data backup systems, and cybersecurity measures. The Assistant IT Manager helps ensure systems are functioning efficiently and that security protocols are properly followed to minimize technical risks and data vulnerabilities.

The role also involves supporting IT projects such as system upgrades, software implementation, network improvements, and technology integration initiatives. The Assistant IT Manager collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project tasks are completed according to technical and operational requirements.

In addition, the position includes maintaining IT documentation, monitoring inventory of hardware and software assets, and ensuring compliance with organizational IT policies and procedures. The role may also involve assisting in training employees on system usage, security awareness, and technical best practices.

The Assistant IT Manager supports the IT Manager in coordinating daily operations, prioritizing technical issues, and ensuring efficient delivery of IT services across departments.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and the capacity to manage multiple IT tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
  • Experience in IT support, system administration, or network management
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, and data backup systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide user support effectively
  • Experience with server management, user account administration, and system maintenance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows systems, and common IT management tools
  • Understanding of IT security policies and risk management practices
  • Ability to support IT projects and coordinate with vendors or service providers
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize technical issues efficiently
  • Familiarity with cloud services or virtualization technologies is an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
