Job Summary

The Assistant Head Chef supports the head chef by managing daily kitchen operations, maintaining food quality, supervising staff, ensuring hygiene standards, and controlling food costs to ensure smooth service and consistent food preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee food preparation to ensure timely and consistent dish quality
  • Monitor portion control and presentation to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff on standard operating procedures and proper food handling to uphold safety and quality
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and proper functioning of kitchen equipment to meet hygiene standards
  • Follow NEA and SFA food safety standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Manage ordering and inventory to control food costs and prevent shortages

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of kitchen experience in the food and beverage industry
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Experience working with German or Western cuisine
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays
