Job Description

Manage budget and expenditure

. Analyze budget and expenditure reports and oversee costs especially for vessels and office management.

Manage business risks

. Develop framework and processes to manage business risk and ensure business risk procedures are complied.

. Implement and refine internal control over management of business operations.

Lead improvements to enhance efficiency

. Drive a culture of innovation and efficiency to ensure processes are productive

. Monitor the effectiveness of workflow improvements

Bridging Communication gap between Singapore office and Japan Headquarter

. Competent in providing Japanese written reports to Managing Director, Ship Management Division and HQ in Japan.

. Liaison and communication in Japanese to various Senior Division Heads of different Singapore business units.

. Point of contact for sharing Headquarter's initiatives and updates to company's divisions and teams.

Manage resource planning

. Develop strategies for resource planning and utilization

. Review the utilization of resources

Approach to Japan Headquarter Sustainability and compliance issues

.Align company to be a:

- Value added transport services

- Marine and global environmental conservation

- Innovation for development in Marine Technology

- Human Resource Cultivation and Community Development

- Governance and Compliance to support business

Change Management

Implement and design a systematic approach to dealing with the transition or transformation to improve company's goals, processes, or technologies. Fulfil company's strategic initiatives and alignment to headquarter's requirements on change management.

Job Requirement:

  • Candidate must be fluent in speaking and writing Japanese to communicate with our Japanese clients and related parties.
  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA).
  • At least 10 years experience in maritime industry.
  • Good understanding of business operations relating to technical ship management, marine safety, quality assurance, vessel performance and crewing.
  • Understand and appreciate the commercial implications of vessel operations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Adaptable to a fast and versatile environment.
  • Good corporate strategy planning skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and project management skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadline.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passionate, dependable and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
