RESPONSILITIES:
Financial Management and Reporting
. Assist in monthly and year-end closing for the charity and its subsidiaries.
. Prepare group-level consolidated financial statements, including group cash flows statements with adjustments.
. Coordinate with external auditors to prepare audited financial statements and fulfil audit requirements.
. Contribute to the production of the organisation's annual report, including compilation of information from various department and liaising with designer and printer
. Assist in the preparation and submission of GST returns, including Longer-Period Adjustment (LPA).
Investment & Disbursement Oversight
. Support the monitoring and reporting of investment performance, including data analysis and liaison with bankers.
. Track and report on donations and sponsorships disbursed by the charity in alignment with approved budgets and strategic goals.
Governance & Internal Audit support
. Coordinate with external and internal auditors, providing required documentation, facilitating audit fieldwork, and tracking post-audit actions across entities.
. Assist in drafting and updating internal policies and SOPs in line with the Code of Governance for Charities and IPCs and relevant regulations.
. Ensure compliance with SFRS, IRAS and Charities Act, including timely and accurate statutory submissions.
Committee of Management & Sub-Committee Support
. Prepare and present quarterly finance and operational reports in both English and Chinese for the Committee of Management and relevant sub-committees (Investment and Corporate Goverance).
. Assist in drafting accurate meeting minutes for sub-committee meetings.
. Maintain proper documentation of board resolutions, meeting papers, and governance records.
Systems & Controls
. Maintain financial records using Xero and Workday,
. Ensure robust internal controls are in place and support process improvements for financial efficiency and accuracy.
REQUIREMENTS:
. Degree in Accounting / Finance and/or a related discipline
. Minimum 3 -5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a charity, foundation, group finance, or audit-support role.
. Solid knowledge of group consolidation, finance reporting, and audit coordination.
. Proficient in XERO, Workday or equivalent accounting software.
. Familiarity with investment portfolio monitoring and financial performance analysis.
. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
. Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
. Member of ISCA or pursuing a professional qualification (e,g CPA, ACCA).
. Prior experience in a charity of Institution of a Public Character (IPC) setting.
. Familiarity with Teochew community and values is an advantage.
Occasionally may need to stay on weekday evening or weekend to support organisational events.
Salary will commensurate with relevant experience and educational qualifications.
