Job Description

Our client in the Tai Seng area is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join and grow with their dynamic team.

Job Summary

Assist with financial operations including monthly closing, audit support, tax filings, inventory management, and daily banking transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly financial closing activities and prepare detailed management reports to support business decision-making
  • Support statutory audits by preparing financial statements and coordinating with auditors to ensure compliance
  • Coordinate GST and corporate tax filings with tax agents to meet regulatory deadlines
  • Participate in monthly stock-taking and assist with inventory management to maintain accurate asset records
  • Handle banking-related transactions and manage day-to-day financial activities to ensure smooth cash flow operations
  • Review and support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes to maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare invoices, debit notes, and journal entries for rebates, claims, and miscellaneous charges to ensure accurate billing and accounting
  • Manage collections, apply receipts, and monitor debtor ageing to maintain current accounts and optimize cash collections
  • Resolve customer billing queries, payment discrepancies, and disputes to maintain strong client relationships
  • Support daily cash reporting and monitoring to ensure accurate cash position tracking
  • Prepare and submit government statistical reports as required to comply with regulatory requirements
  • Perform ad-hoc accounting or finance tasks as assigned to support overall finance team objectives

Required competencies and certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Prior experience in FMCG, supermarket, consumer goods, or fast-food industries preferred
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills able to work independently
