Job Description

Role Overview

The Assistant Finance Manager / Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial and fund accounting within the family office. The role oversees legal entity accounting, fund operations support, financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and internal controls, while supporting investment and asset management activities.

This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, analytical capability, and disciplined governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Legal Entity Accounting

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements for legal entities, including monthly, and annual management accounts.
  • Prepare and review management reporting packs and other MIS reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Record and review accounting journal entries in the accounting system for corporate and fund entities.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure proper documentation and audit trails.

Fund Accounting & Investment Oversight

  • Support financial and fund accounting functions, including daily fund operations where applicable.
  • Perform periodic cash, security, and investment reconciliations against counterparties, custodians, and bank records.
  • Reconcile financial and investment records to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Controls, Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain robust operational controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules, financial statements, compliance reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Support GST submissions and other tax-related documentation in coordination with external advisors.
  • Ensure all documentation is properly filed, archived, and maintained within structured data repositories.

Budgeting, Analytics & Operational Support

  • Provide financial analytics and reporting to management.
  • Process payments and input/review reimbursement.
  • Assist in ad-hoc financial, operational, and strategic projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Relevant experience in accounting & control functions within a family office, buy-side organization, fund environment.
  • Working knowledge of fund accounting, multiple asset classes, and investment structures is advantageous.
  • Exposure to portfolio or financial accounting systems.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

This role ensures disciplined financial management, accurate reporting, robust internal controls, and effective support of investment and fund operations within the family office. The incumbent is expected to uphold high governance standards while contributing to financial transparency, compliance, and strategic financial oversight.
