Role Description:

The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Group Accounting Manager in overseeing finance operations, managing cashflow and working capital, and leading accounts payable and receivable functions. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, optimises liquidity, and drives process improvements. Experience in a manufacturing or factory environment are preferred.

Responsibilities:

Cashflow, Working Capital & Accounts Payable/Receivable Management:

  • Oversee billing, collections, and customer account reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate receivables management.
  • Monitor AR ageing and implement collection strategies to minimise overdue accounts and bad debts.
  • Coordinate with sales and operations to resolve disputes, validate sales and intercompany transactions and manage customer credit risk.
  • Develop and maintain accurate cashflow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee payment planning and execution, including vendor payment runs, prioritisation and cash allocation in line with cashflow forecasts.
  • Monitor and optimise working capital by managing payables, receivables, and inventory in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Mitigate cashflow, foreign exchange, and interest rate risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Drive process improvements in treasury, AP, and AR operations to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve cash conversion cycles.

Finance Operations & Reporting:

  • Supervise daily finance operations and provide guidance to the team to ensure prompt and accurate accounting records.
  • Support monthly closing, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany/related-party reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits, tax reporting, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Continuously improve finance operations and handle other ad-hoc assignments as needed.

Specifications/Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Possess minimum qualification of bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Demonstration of key finance competencies and qualifications with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to take initiative, guide and influence others towards goal accomplishment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
  • Proficient user of finance software.
