Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer, Track Renewal is responsible to lead and manage a teamof technical Officers and contractors to carry out system-wide repair,maintenance and replacement of all track components such as rails, switches andcrossings so as to support SMRT in providing safe and reliable train service toour commuters.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of an Assistant Engineer,Track Renewal are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive andrelated duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
. Organize and plan all rail changeactivities
. Comply and execute tasks in accordance to WorkInstructions and Procedures.
. Comply and exercise safety at all times inaccordance to Safety Procedures.
. Responsible for the safety of self, peers andthe track throughout the working period.
. Carry-out the role of person-in-charge (PIC) andpreventive maintenance (PM) duties and responsibilities.
. Complete the necessary paper work for alltasks
. Complete rail change or built up welding workswithin a given time frame.
. Coordinate and supervise contractors in all railchange activities
. Supervise a team of Technical Officers for allrail change activities.
. Coordinate with other Departments involved inrail change activities
. Plan and forecast on all materials, tools andequipment needed for continuous rail change operation.
. Check and verify all leaves and claims submittedby your staff.
. Perform Ultrasonic Tests, when necessary.
. Assist in training new staff on rail changeoperation.
Qualifications & Work Experience
. Diploma in Mechatronics / Mechanical / CivilEngineering.
. Preferably with at least 3-4 years of experiencein field maintenance.
. Able to communicate effectively and a good teamplayer.
. Proficient in using tools and equipment.
