Assistant Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of chargehands and sub-contractors to perform on-site hull blasting and painting, staging, cleaning and insulation works activities.
• Assist in manpower and resource scheduling and deployment, daily man hour returns and coordinate in all aspects of site issues.
• Update daily manpower deployment record and over time.
• Liaise with owners and paint representative and surveyor on complying with paint specification and Insulation requirements.
• Attend the daily VSCC meeting.
• Obtain blasting / painting permit and entry into confined space permits or any other work permit system.
• Inspect and update the check list.
• Monitor job progress and ensure quality work at targeted schedule.
• Prepare reports on job status and project completion.
• Inspect vessels and ensure proper handling over to customers.
• Liaise and coordinate with other departments on project issues.
• Update weekly progress and attend meeting.
• Any other associate tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Nitec/ Higher Nitecin Engineering or technical fields
• Knowledge of blasting and painting operation
• Understand and able to interpret technical drawings and paint specification
