Job Description

We areseeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer to join our Opto-MechanicalAssembly team. This is an exciting opportunity for fresh polytechnicgraduates who are passionate about precision engineering, optics, and hands-ontechnical work.

As anAssistant Engineer, you will be involved in the assembly, testing, andcalibration of high-precision optical and mechanical components. You willwork closely with engineers and production teams to support the development andmanufacturing of advanced opto-mechanical systems used in various high-techapplications.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Assist in the assembly of optical and mechanical components in a clean, controlled environment
  • Perform alignment, bonding, and integration of optical parts using specialized tools and fixtures
  • Design fixtures and maintain the fixture DWGs to aid technician in the assembly build
  • Support testing, inspection, and calibration of assembled units to ensure quality and performance standards
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and SOPs
  • Report assembly issues and assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve assembly processes and product reliability
  • Maintain documentation for production records and quality compliance

Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Polytechnic in Singapore
  • Keen interest in precision assembly and working with optical/mechanical components
  • Good understanding of mechanical drawings and basic metrology tools
  • Excellent attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and patience for fine manual work
  • A proactive team player with good communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a technical environment

Nice toHave (Not Mandatory)

  • Internship or project experience in optical or mechanical assembly
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 manufacturing practices
