Job Description

We are seeking for an Assistant Engineer to support our Engineering team in preparing technical drawings, maintaining engineering documentation, assisting with cutting list preparation, supporting QC documentation, and participating in product and process improvement activities. This is a development role where work is carried out under the guidance, review, and approval of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

1. CAD Drawing and Engineering Documentation

  • Prepare and update 2D/3D AutoCAD part, assembly, and project drawings.
  • Revise drawings based on approved engineering mark-ups and instructions.
  • Assist in preparing project submittal drawings and technical documentation.
  • Maintain DXF drawings and engineering files in the designated server.
  • Support the maintenance of product assembly drawings.

2. Product and Manufacturing Support

  • Assist in product design, fabrication support, and process improvement activities.
  • Prepare cutting lists for new and repeat products from approved information.
  • Produce drawings for customised orders under engineer supervision.
  • Generate CNC DXF files after engineer review.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining 3D models, including iLogic updates after training.

3. ERP and Cutting List Support

  • Create, update, in the ERP system based on the approved drawings and product structures
  • Support preparation of cutting lists for sales orders.
  • Check for incomplete or inconsistent information and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Ensure ERP engineering data is accurate and based on approved documents.

4. Engineering and QC Documentation

  • Draft engineering instructions using approved templates.
  • Assist in preparing and updating QC instructions and engineering documents.
  • Maintain document records in accordance with the document control system.

5. Quality and Inspection Support

  • Assist with Isolation Damper QC inspections and documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection certificates.
  • Support Fire Damper inspection documentation.
  • Assist in recording non-conformance issues and tracking corrective actions.

6. Process Improvement Support

  • Observe manufacturing processes and assist in improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare process observation notes and simple improvement reports.
  • Collect production feedback and support approved improvement actions.

7. Technical Support

  • Provide basic technical support, drawings, dimensions, and product information to internal teams.
  • Prepare technical summaries and calculation inputs for engineer review.
  • Refer engineering calculations, design decisions, and customer-specific technical matters to the responsible engineer.

8. Responsibilities Requiring Approval

The Assistant Engineer is not expected to make final engineering or customer-facing technical decisions independently. The following require review and approval by the senior engineer or manager before release:

  • Final product design changes.
  • Engineering calculations issued to customers, sales, or production.
  • New or revised cutting lists.
  • Engineering and QC instructions.
  • Corrective actions for non-conformance cases.
  • Customer-specific drawings.
  • Complex 3D modelling and iLogic modifications until competency has been demonstrated.

Learning and Development Expectations

This role is designed to progressively develop engineering competencies. Fresh graduates will focus on drawing updates, documentation, and supervised production or QC activities. Candidates with 2-3 years of relevant experience may gradually undertake greater responsibilities after demonstrating competence, while key engineering decisions remain subject to approval.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • 2-3 years of experience in drafting, manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering support is an advantage.
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D is required.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, iLogic, ERP systems, CNC drawings, is an advantage.
  • Willing to learn product design, manufacturing processes, QC documentation, and ERP systems.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to follow engineering procedures.
  • Able to communicate effectively with Engineering, Production, QC, Sales, and other internal departments.

  • Work Location: Jurong Area (5-minute walk from Joo Koon MRT)
  • Working Days: Monday to Friday (5-day work week)
  • Working Hours: 8:30 am - 6:00 pm
