Job Summary
Lead and manage a team responsible for testing low-voltage switchboards and power distribution boards, ensuring quality and compliance with safety and operational standards. Drive training initiatives and collaborate with quality and project management teams to support continuous improvement and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a team of engineer assistants, supervisors, and technicians to execute testing of low-voltage switchboards and power distribution boards, ensuring adherence to testing protocols and safety standards
- Verify and ensure all testing checklists are accurately completed and authorized to maintain quality control
- Develop, manage, and deliver training programs on safety guidelines, testing procedures, and troubleshooting techniques for new hires and new product introductions
- Lead factory acceptance tests (FAT) and factory witness tests (FWT) with client participation, ensuring compliance with the method of statement (MOS)
- Execute in-house test procedures and quality control inspections, including visual inspections and torque tests, aligned with MOS requirements
- Manage calibration, defect reporting, and replacement processes for all testing tools and equipment used by the Testing Department to maintain operational readiness
- Provide actionable insights to the Quality Management Team for Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to enhance product and process quality
- Collaborate with the Project Management Team to review and validate methods of statement, supporting project execution and compliance
- Commit to achieving team goals and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives set by management
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel to support communication and documentation
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and single line diagrams (SLD) to guide testing and troubleshooting activities
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in Electrical Engineering Final Year Project (FYP) may be considered if relevant to the role
