Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Resident Care and Leadership

  • Lead and uphold standards of resident care aligned with the philosophy and core values of the home.
  • Ensure residents medical, nursing and daily living needs are met with empathy, and respect.
  • Develop and implement nursing care protocols, infection control measures, and safety practices.
  • Oversee resident care plans, case reviews, falls management, pressure injury prevention and medication management.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align nursing strategies with organizational goals.

2. Nursing Workforce Management

. Provide leadership in the recruitment, selection, development and retention of nurses with the nursing team.

  • Oversee manpower planning, scheduling, recruitment, on-boarding, and rostering to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Build capability and competency through training, coaching, competency assessments, and professional development programmes.
  • Promote a supportive work environment that encourages teamwork, learning, accountability, and staff well-being.
  • Mentor and develop staff, fostering a professional and high-performing environment.

3. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and sector standards for residential care.
  • Oversee audits, incident reporting, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Lead preparations for inspections and audits.
  • Safeguard resident rights and privacy, and ensure ethical nursing practice.
  • Review existing and develop new home care policies, standard operating procedures as and when the need arise.

4. Operational & Resource Management

  • Ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor and manage the utilisation of medical equipment, clinical supplies, and care resources in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Participate in budgeting, quality improvement projects, and strategic planning for the care division.

5. Family, Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Maintain positive communication with residents and families, addressing concerns and care-related matters promptly.
  • Collaborate with medical practitioners, therapists, social workers, and external professionals to ensure coordinated resident care.
  • Support community partnerships, training institutions, and sector collaborations where beneficial to the home and residents.

Qualifications

. Masters or Degree in Nursing

. Registered Nurse with at least 3-5 years of experience in a Nursing leadership/ managerial capacity with hospital / nursing home administration experience preferred.

. Post-Basic Specialty Certificate/Advance Diploma in Nursing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

. Highly motivated, able to work in a team and in a fast paced environment

. Good interpersonal and influencing skills

. Independent, innovative and resourceful personality

. Works as a partner with senior management team of the hospital/ nursing home.

. Represents the Home as liaison person with the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), Ministry of Health (MOH) and Singapore regulatory, accreditation and compliance agencies and the community at large.
