The Assistant Director, Human Resources is a strategic leadership role responsible for partnering closely with the Managing Director and Executive Director to drive the company's people agenda, operational excellence, and organizational growth.
This role oversees the full HR spectrum across Shared Services (Payroll & HR Administration), HR Business Partnering, and Talent Management, ensuring alignment of people strategies with business objectives while driving service excellence across all operating units.
The incumbent will provide leadership in workforce planning, organizational development, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, compliance, and HR transformation initiatives to support business scalability within a fast-paced F&B environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Partner with the Managing Director and Executive Director to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business growth objectives
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organizational design, workforce capability, succession planning, and people-related risks
- Drive HR transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and employee experience
- Lead annual manpower planning, budgeting, and headcount forecasting exercises
- Support business expansion, restructuring, and change management initiatives
Payroll
- Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing across all business entities
- Ensure statutory compliance including CPF, IRAS, MOM, SDL, and relevant employment regulations
- Review payroll governance controls, audits, approvals, and process improvements
- Drive payroll system optimisation and automation initiatives
HR Administration
- Oversee employee lifecycle administration including onboarding, transfers, confirmations, contract renewals, and exits
- Ensure proper documentation, data integrity, and HRIS governance
- Review policies and SOPs to maintain operational consistency and compliance
HR Business Partnering
- Lead and guide the HRBP team in partnering with business leaders across operations and corporate functions
- Drive people solutions to improve workforce productivity and engagement
- Provide counsel on employee relations, disciplinary matters, investigations, and conflict resolution
- Ensure consistency in performance management, coaching, and leadership capability building
- Partner with operational leaders to strengthen people management practices
Talent Management & Organisational Development
- Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition strategy for frontline and corporate hiring
- Drive employer branding and workforce attraction strategies within a competitive F&B talent market
- Develop succession planning and leadership pipeline initiatives
- Lead learning & development frameworks to strengthen internal capability
- Drive performance management calibration and talent review processes
- Champion employee engagement and retention strategies
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Singapore employment laws and regulatory requirements
- Review HR policies and ensure relevance to operational realities
- Mitigate employment-related risks through strong governance practices
- Lead internal audits and HR process reviews where required
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with business heads, finance, and external stakeholders to build strong cross-functional partnerships to support business execution
- Present HR insights, workforce metrics, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Requirements
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in senior HR leadership
- Prior experience leading multiple HR functions including payroll/shared services, HRBP, and talent management
- Experience in F&B, hospitality, retail, or multi-site service operations preferred
- Proven experience supporting C-suite or executive leadership
