We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Director of Housekeeping to join our team!
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing guest rooms, public areas, and other housekeeping operations while driving operational efficiency, team development, quality assurance, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department.
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest service across guestrooms and public areas.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with brand and hotel standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop housekeeping leaders and colleagues through training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Support manpower planning, recruitment, workforce scheduling, and succession planning.
- Monitor departmental budgets, expenses, inventories, and operating equipment.
- Prepare and analyze operational reports, forecasts, and improvement initiatives.
- Oversee preventive maintenance and deep-cleaning programmes in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, hygiene, security, and environmental practices.
- Foster a positive and engaged team culture that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Handle guest feedback professionally and drive service recovery efforts when required.
Requirements
- Diploma in Hotel Management or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of housekeeping leadership experience in an upscale hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, quality standards, and hotel service excellence.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and engage teams.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems.
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, initiative, and a guest-centric mindset.
