We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented leader to serve as our Assistant Director of Catering. In this role, you will act as both a brand ambassador and a trusted partner to our clients. You will assist in driving the strategic direction of the catering department, ensuring that every event-from high-profile conferences to intimate weddings-exceeds guest expectations . You will work collaboratively with the Director of Sales & Distributions to develop business strategies, hunt for new opportunities, and connect internal teams to deliver a seamless, memorable experience for planners and attendees alike .
Key Responsibilities:-
Sales & Business Development
Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive business plan and sales strategy to attain revenue goals and maximize profitability . Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, conduct site inspections, and entertain potential clients . Negotiate prices for food and beverage, function space, and services within established booking guidelines to optimize revenue . Build and nurture long-term relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat and referral business.
Event Planning & Operations
Serve as the primary point of contact for detailed event planning, consulting with clients to optimize all elements including space, flow, menu design, and dcor. Oversee the execution of events to ensure they meet brand standards and client expectations, conducting pre- and post-event meetings for continuous improvement. Coordinate with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team on menu pricing, preparation, and the creation of innovative banquet menus and beverage lists. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all catering agreements, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and contracts .
Financial Management
Assist in preparing the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. Complete forecasts, productivity reports, and monitor departmental spend to identify opportunities to optimize sales while minimizing waste. Monitor account revenue and business production, adjusting strategies as needed to meet planned goals .
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required
- Equivalent combinations of education and extensive work experience may be considered .
Experience
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in a catering setting, hotel sales, or event management.
- At least 2-3 years of direct supervisory or managerial experience over a sales or catering team .
- Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing budgets .
- Experience with high-volume, upscale events (MICE, weddings, social events) .
