Job Description

[What the role is]

To ensure that investigations are conducted in a proper, efficient and effective manner and appropriate and fair penalties are imposed for contraventions of legislations / regulations / codes administered by IMDA to support the development of a vibrant, world-class ICM sector that drives the economy, bonds communities and powers a smart nation.

[What you will be working on]

  • Ensure that high investigation standards are maintained in every case to ensure fairness and consistency
  • Ensure that recommendations on penalties imposed on errant licensees / parties are impartial, consistent, and commensurate to the contraventions committed
  • Ensure service standards are met for investigation of cases and collections and record maintenance are accurate and timely.
  • Lead a team of officers who possess the neccessary skills to perform digital forensics.
  • Ensure that officers acquire the relevant expertise / certification to utilise the relevant tools / hardware / software to do basic forensic archival, extraction, analysis and retrieval of deleted information / data via methods that can withstand scrutiny and are admissible in court
  • Ensure that forensics processes, workflows and methodologies are in accordance with prevailing best practices / industry standards
  • Prepare the investigation team to respond effectively to changing legislative / technological landscape
  • Ensure that case management module reduces resources in tracking and managing cases and builds effective links with IMDA divisions and external agencies
  • Plan for major ad-hoc events by establishing processes and reporting protocol

[What we are looking for]

  • 10 - 15 years of experience in investigations and leading a team in a law enforcement / government regulatory capacity
  • Good working knowledge of investigation and enforcement processes / procedures, including court prosecution
  • Experience and expertise in digital forensics
  • Possess good analytical, writing and communication skills and a positive work attitude
  • Integrity, honesty and responsibility
  • Self-driven and a good team player
  • Sense of accountability and take pride in delivering consistently good work
  • Meticulous and expeditious in work
  • Initiative to develop effective solutions to problems encountered
  • Adaptable and able to think on their feet
