Lead the Controls discipline of Technical Services Engineering.
Support enhancements, advise on maintenance and troubleshooting regimes and handle configuration control to ensure safe and reliable ride and show equipment.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the department's strategic plans, initiatives and standard operating procedures.
Establish close partnerships with ride and show vendors, other Universal Parks and RWS business units to positively influence ride safety, reliability and quality.
Lead Software Development Lifecycle processes, develop Standard Electrical Schematic Diagrams and oversee the review and execution of OEM Service Bulletins.
Work hand-in-hand with the Mechanical Engineering team to oversee installation, key troubleshooting efforts, reliability improvements and major upgrades of amusement ride and show equipment, including automation, PLC and drives systems.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (Universal's specifications, ASTM, EN13814 and BCA Amusement Ride Standards), including overseeing testing where necessary.
Oversee storage and version control of ride and show software using approved repositories.
Contribute and approve engineering reports, development of control system and hazard analysis, code compares, system drawings, verification and validations.
Assume a Senior Duty Manager role from time to time supporting the wider Technical Services operations.
Understand Singapore Amusement Ride Safety Regulations and take up the role of BCA Ride Manager when appropriate.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, and Computer Engineering (or related field).
Minimum 10 years of experience in a Controls / Automation / Manufacturing / Theme Park industries with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
Knowledge and experience of a wide variety of common PLC-based systems will be an advantage (Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC 500 and Siemens S7) including VFDs.
Proficient in engineering and fault analysis and experience with installation and commissioning of complex Control Systems.
Previous design and/or Project Management experience of complex Control systems will be an advantage.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively with a wide range of technical personnel.
Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet dynamic demands.
Resilient, adaptable and able to work through issues and provide solutions in a challenging and fast paced environment.
Able to work at height and willing to take the rides, from time to time.
Able to perform shift work, including on weekends and public holidays.
