What the role is
The Trade Division is responsible for driving Singapore's trade and developing Singapore as a global trading hub. Within the Trade Division, the Export Promotion Department (EPD) supports internationalisation efforts of enterprises, by providing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs) advisory to ease market access barriers and issues in overseas markets. We also work closely with the Ministry of Trade and Industry by providing industry feedback to better enhance our FTAs to ensure relevance for our companies.
What you will be working on
Grant Processing
In this role, you will oversee the financial aspects of project submissions. You will:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, Government's regulations and policy manuals
- Work with internal and external stakeholders on audit, policy and process-related queries
- Ensure accuracy on applicants expense submissions and check against proof of payments (e.g. receipts for projects)
Rubber Industry Act
In this role, you will oversee the operational aspects of licensing under the Rubber Industry Act. You will:
- Manage and maintain the Rubber Licensing module on GoBiz
- Handle the day-to-day operations of rubber licensing enquiries and requests from applicant companies
- Issue rubber licenses to applicant companies in a timely manner
Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) & Department Secretary
In this role, you will oversee the operational aspects of the FTAs Legal Texts on EnterpriseSG's corporate website. You will:
- Manage and maintain the FTAs Legal Texts on EnterpriseSG's corporate website and work closely with the Corporate Communications Web Services Team
- Help team members with the logistics of setting up webinars for eg. Tariff Finder online database, and following up with webinar participants pre- and post-webinar
- Help out with administrative tasks as required: Eg. Checking of supervisors calendars maintenance of email filing systems registry archives of work files etc.
What we are looking for
We are looking for candidates with:
- Ability to understand financial statements and verify financial entries
- Competency in sense-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, and also to work with/well with a team
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A relevant field of study in Accountancy or related disciplines, which would be an advantage
- A strong attention to details (detail-oriented) and is meticulous
- Experience in front-facing situations managing external companies and their representatives, including handling difficult customers with tact and firmness
- An ability to work well across multiple internal teams and reporting to multiple supervisors
