Assistant Cook

• Assist in preparing ingredients such as washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring food items.
• Help cook and prepare meals according to recipes and the chef's instructions.
• Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations.
• Wash utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment when required.
• Store food properly and label ingredients according to food safety standards.
• Monitor food stock levels and inform the chef or supervisor when supplies are running low.
• Receive and check food deliveries for quality and quantity.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Assist with portioning and plating food before serving.
• Dispose of food waste appropriately and keep the kitchen organized.
• Operate basic kitchen equipment safely, such as ovens, fryers, mixers, and slicers.
• Support the chef during busy service periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Carry out any other kitchen-related duties assigned by the head chef or kitchen supervisor.
