Job Description

Overall Job Purpose

The ACE of Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) assists the CEO in providing the vision, leadership and strategic direction in the shaping of leisure and lifestyle experience on Sentosa.

As ACE, Corporate and Sustainability Group, he/she has responsibility for the Corporate Divisions, (comprising Finance and Procurement, Human Resource and Administration, Legal, Corporate Planning, and Internal Audit) and driving Sustainability at an island level.

The key job requirements include overseeing the adequate resourcing of SDC against its short and long term needs against the strategic plans of the organization against its mandate, and support the CE in facilitating board and board committee decisions for strategy, financials, risk & governance, people and organization.

Responsibilities also include operational oversight of financial reporting and budgeting, management of financial reserves, overseeing SDC's corporate policy and processes, risk and governance, corporate planning and strategy formulation, people strategy, organizational culture, talent development, and defining and driving the sustainability roadmap across the organization towards its desired sustainability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Nature and Scope

  • Assist the CEO to chart the vision, mission, strategy, and masterplan for Sentosa and SDC.
  • Deputise for CEO in her absence, where required, including attendance at meetings at parent ministry with Minister, PS and DS.
  • Ensure organisation has a robust governance and risk framework, and is financially prudent and sustainable.
  • Drive plans and action towards outcomes supporting the goals of the island as a sustainable destination.
  • Lead and work with the respective divisional directors in delivering on their divisional goals and KPIs in support of the organization.

Principal Accountabilities / Key Performance Indicators

The principal accountabilities of the ACE, SDC are as follows:

  • Assist the CEO in providing leadership to the organization to deliver on the strategy, business, and organizational transformation, corporate priorities and achievement of corporate KPIs.
  • Deliver organizational excellence through business process engineering, developing a strong productivity and innovative culture.
  • Ensure strong corporate governance, and sound risk and financial management to safeguard SDC's brand, operations and reputation, and financial reserves.
  • Develop organizational capabilities to execute SDC's strategic plan, identify and develop talent, and mentor the next level of leadership to ensure sound succession planning and good governance.
  • Build a collaborative organizational culture based on enterprise thinking and strong teamwork.
  • Develop robust HR strategies to attract, develop and retain competent managerial, professional and support staff with a set of shared values to achieve the organization's objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership to embed environmental, social and governance principles into the organization's strategy, operations and culture.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles with large private companies, preferably in the leisure/tourism or FMCG sectors
  • Experience in public service would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability/experience to advise senior management to enable strategic and best decisions
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills to build a collaborative and results-driven culture
  • Possess strong financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to build trust, inspire confidence and lead teams through complex planning processes
  • The capacity to maintain composure and perform under pressure
  • A keen mind that can anticipate issues and plans for the future
