Assistant Chartering Manager

Responsibilities

• Support in identifying commercial opportunities and handling voyage execution in the allocated region.
• Assist in selecting voyages that maximise revenue while ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Establish and maintain strong partnerships with customers, brokers, and vessel owners.
• Research market developments and assess freight movements to aid in shaping commercial strategies.
• Work closely with Operations and Commercial teams to ensure effective chartering execution.
• Prepare accurate voyage estimations and provide support in charter party negotiations.
• Oversee the progress of charter activities and provide regular performance updates to the team.

Requirements

• Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in dry bulk chartering or cargo operations (experience in Supramax/Handymax segment preferred).
• Solid understanding of chartering practices, shipping documentation, and charter party terms.
• Strong numerical ability and analytical mindset with keen attention to accuracy.
• Capable of performing well under pressure in a dynamic work environment.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
