Job Summary

The Assistant Business Development Manager supports the company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and assisting in tendering and project acquisition activities within the construction and marine industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities in construction, marine, and related sectors

  • Support in preparation and submission of tenders, proposals, and quotations

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal departments on project requirements

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, competitors, and industry trends

  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients

  • Coordinate with project, technical, and QS teams to ensure accurate project costing and proposals

  • Attend site visits, client meetings, and networking events when required

  • Track and follow up on business leads and tender outcomes

  • Prepare reports on business development activities and performance

    Requirements

    • Diploma / Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field

    • 3-5 years of experience in business development, preferably in construction or marine industry

    • Familiar with tendering process (e.g., GeBIZ is a plus)

    • Good communication and negotiation skills

    • Strong coordination and stakeholder management ability

    • Proactive, independent, and results-driven

    Preferred Skills

    • Knowledge of marine construction / dredging / civil works

    • Experience dealing with government or private sector tenders

    • Basic understanding of costing and project workflow

    • 2-5 years of experience in business development, preferably in construction or marine industry

    • Familiar with tendering process (e.g., GeBIZ is a plus)
