The Assistant Bid Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Bid Manager, Sales Director and Country/Division sales team with the project management and governance of the sales process across the full opportunity lifecycle - providing support from early opportunity identification and pipeline management through to the Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) stages.

It is a rewarding role and you will work across a broad range of interesting client accounts and internal CBRE stakeholders. The role is suited for someone who is passionate about quality, creativity, written word and seeing end results. You will have attention to detail and a flair for understanding and articulating solutions to client needs and challenges.

You will also have strong writing skills and are looking to develop your skills and build your bid management career. You will work closely with the Bid Manager, Business Development Managers (BDM) and Business Unit Sales Coordinators (BUSC) to ensure differentiated, innovative and client focused proposals are delivered on time and to an exceptional standard.

What you'll do:

Attracting clients

‒ Conduct client research to support cultivation

‒ Assist with preparation of materials for prospective client meetings and presentations

‒ Support the coordination of BU events by inputting into content, themes and materials

‒ Support account planning by helping to capture client insights, relationship maps and whitespace opportunities that inform pursuit strategy

‒ Support client engagement activities, helping to prepare for and follow up on prospective client meetings and capturing key actions and next steps

RFI and RFP process

‒ The role provides bid support to your assigned BU, and you will coordinate and support the bid process with your BDM for new sales opportunities as required.

‒ Ensure request for information (RFI) questionnaires are submitted to a high standard

‒ Work closely with the sales team to manage proposals from initiation to submission, this will include:

o Ensure bid tracker/responsibility matrix is created for every opportunity and team remains organised

o Response planning and structuring

o Coordinate and manage supply chain partners to obtain quotations and pricing inputs in support of the BDM's commercial and pricing efforts

o Work with BDMs and Bid Manager to develop win themes aligned to client needs

o Write bespoke bid responses and work closely with the BDM to produce compelling executive summaries

o Check and challenge content, and contributions from others to ensure written responses clearly articulate differentiation and win themes

o Ensure final documents are of the highest quality through design, editing and proof reading

‒ Ensure the team are on track for post proposal activities, helping plan and prepare site visit, presentation and workshop materials.

Knowledge and process

‒ Support the Bid Manager to embed and improve process and knowledge across the Country/Division

‒ Work closely with the team to develop and update the content library with professional profiles, account profiles and case studies. Share content with the wider business

‒ Proactively stay up to date with CBRE, industry knowledge and innovations, sharing this information with the team and allowing this knowledge to filter in to bid responses

‒ Gather and share market intelligence on clients, competitors and sector trends to strengthen pursuit strategy and win themes

‒ Support sales enablement by helping to maintain and share reusable content, templates and tools that improve the quality and efficiency of sales and bid activity

Networking and collaboration

‒ Support the Bid Manager by helping to build and foster a community and supporting on writing and proposal training within the BU,Build an internal network across the Business Unit to enhance knowledge, share best practice, and collectively benefit from shared insights

‒ Build relationships with operational leaders and support functions.

An ideal candidate for this role is energetic, proactive and able to prioritise demands and work to deadlines. With natural leadership skills and the ability to build robust working relationships, the ideal candidate has the ability to influence and motivate, and can work under pressure and to demanding and multiple deadlines

Strong writing skills, creativity and desire to win are crucial.

Education
Higher educational qualifications to degree level would be beneficial.

Writing Skills
Strong bid writing and editing skills are essential. Past bid writing and management experience in a sales environment is desirable.

Technology Skills
Must possess excellent Microsoft 360 skills - primarily Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Administration Skills
You are a strong communicator with solid planning skills. You like to stay organised, can delegate and manage multiple deadlines across multiple stakeholders.

Desirable Experience
‒ Experience working in a bid management and/or sales environment

‒ Experience writing and managing proposals

‒ Experience of meeting tight deadlines

‒ Experience supporting and collaborating within teams

‒ Experience of dealing with and co-operating with a wide range of people.

Circumstances & Confidentiality
Must be flexible to work outside core office hours from time to time to meet tight deadlines as set by customers.

This role may require travel on occasions to other work locations for team meetings, site visits or to attend conferences or events.
