Assistant Automotive Certification Engineer

Job Summary: We are expanding our technical team and looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Automotive Certification Engineer. This is a fantastic entry-point into the highly specialized field of global vehicle homologation and testing.

Based in Singapore, you will support our senior technical leads in managing EU and ASEAN certification programs for major automotive OEMs. No prior homologation experience is required-comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. You will assist in compiling technical reports, organizing testing data, and learning the intricacies of international automotive regulations.

Responsibilities

• Project Support: Assist senior engineers in tracking project milestones for Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) and ASEAN market certifications.

• Documentation: Help compile, format, and organize comprehensive Whole Vehicle Information Documents and technical reports for submission.

• Data Management: Consolidate and validate large volumes of vehicle testing data to ensure accuracy and consistency.

• Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with testing laboratories, internal teams, and clients to ensure testing schedules are met.

• Continuous Learning: Learn to interpret complex international automotive regulations (e.g., ECE, GSR II) under the close guidance of industry experts.

• Technical Translation: Assist in reviewing and translating basic technical specifications and design requirements between English and Mandarin.

Required Competencies

• Language Skills: Proficient in Mandarin (Reading & Spoken) is mandatory to read technical drawings, analyze data from Chinese OEMs, and communicate with their R&D teams.

• Proficient in English for official reporting and internal communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

• 0 to 3 years of working experience. Fresh graduates with a strong passion for the automotive engineering sector are highly encouraged to apply.

• Basic understanding of engineering documentation, QA/QC processes, or testing environments is a strong plus.

• Detail-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.

Other Information

• Residency: Open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) only.

• This is a unique Contract-to-Hire opportunity initially employed by SingMobility Technology Surveillance Pte. Ltd. and deployed on-site to DEKRA's Singapore office.

• Upon successful performance, there is high potential for a direct permanent employment contract with DEKRA Singapore as a founding member of their new technical setup.
