Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Assistant Accountant to support the Finance team in managing the full set of accounts, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and administrative accounting functions. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and timely completion of accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

  • Assist in maintaining the full set of accounts, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations.
  • Process supplier invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries accurately and on time.
  • Monitor customer collections and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies where necessary.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Billing & Project Accounting

  • Coordinate with project teams on billing matters and collection forecasts.
  • Assist in project budgeting, costing, and financial tracking.
  • Prepare project-related financial reports as required.

Taxation & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate tax schedules and supporting documents for annual tax submission.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and relevant authorities during audits and tax reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.

Financial Reporting

  • Assist in preparing management accounts and financial reports.
  • Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Support financial analysis and reporting activities as assigned.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Participate in accounting system implementation, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the maintenance and accuracy of accounting data within financial systems.

Other Duties

  • Provide administrative support to the Finance Department as required.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Candidates with 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience will have an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with GST and corporate tax requirements in Singapore.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is advantageous.
