Develop, validate, and optimize fiber optic assembly, termination, and polishing processes to improve yield, quality, and manufacturability
Establish process parameters, SOPs, work instructions, and process controls for production operations
Troubleshoot process and quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield enhancement, defect reduction, cycle time improvement, and cost optimization
Support new product introduction (NPI), process transfer, and manufacturing scale-up activities
Collaborate with Design, Production, Quality, and Equipment teams to improve process stability and manufacturing performance
Evaluate and qualify materials, tooling, fixtures, and equipment for assembly processes
Conduct process validation, capability studies, DOE, SPC analysis, and process monitoring activities
Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and operators on best practices and process controls
Support automation, tooling improvement, and equipment commissioning projects
Maintain process documentation and ensure compliance with quality and industry standards
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related disciplines
Minimum 2 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or assembly engineering environment
Experience in photonics, optics, semiconductor, precision engineering, electronics, or other high-technology manufacturing industries is preferred
Knowledge of process development, process validation, and continuous improvement methodologies
Familiar with root cause analysis tools such as 8D, DOE, SPC, RCCA, or FMEA
Hands-on experience in fiber optics assembly, polishing, laser assembly, or precision manufacturing processes will be an advantage
Experience supporting NPI, DFM, automation, or manufacturing scale-up projects is preferred
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Able to work effectively in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO or AS9100 is an added advantage
