We are seeking an authoritative editor to shape and elevate markets analysis under pressure and at pace. You'll thrive in fast-moving environments, working across asset classes with the agility to adapt to shifting market dynamics. You'll have a talent for distilling complex ideas into sharp insights delivered in a conversational style and a sophisticated understanding of what is most useful for our Terminal clients.

As a Markets Live Editor, you'll sit at the center of Bloomberg's real-time markets coverage - helping strategists translate their expertise into timely, impactful analysis. You'll balance speed with precision, ensuring every piece we publish adds clarity and value for professional readers who need to act fast. You'll work closely with our flagship Markets Live blog, our suite of macro columns, and on emerging squawk-to-text innovations, helping shape the future of Bloomberg's live market insights.

We'll trust you to:

• Edit analysis from our macro strategists on topics spanning global equities, fixed income, credit, currencies, and commodities.
• Debate market ideas with a broad team of strategists and editors, challenging assumptions and refining perspectives
• Distinguish between retaining an author's authentic voice and indulging poor writing, ensuring every piece meets Bloomberg's editorial standards
• Help develop and refine new live formats and editorial workflows that keep pace with market and audience demands

You'll need to have:

• At least 5 recent years of experience as a financial editor
• Experience in a real-time news environment
• Experience editing markets stories across multiple asset classes
• A flair for writing, editing, and crafting headlines that resonate with a professional readership
• The capacity to switch seamlessly between story formats and writing styles - from fast, reactive commentary to longer-form explainers
• A demonstrated ability to translate complicated ideas into compelling, accessible narratives
• Strong markets knowledge, with the judgment to prioritise and pivot to what matters most urgently for traders
• A collaborative approach and a proven track record of communicating effectively across teams and regions
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
