Job Description
MSSG is looking for a dynamic and skilled AS400 engineer with 8+ years of experience to join our team. In this role, you'll will be ensuring that our post trading back office systems run smoothly, and you'll also get to opportunity to develop new process and improvements. You will get opportunity to maintain and improve applications within the backoffice trading ecosystem. You'll work closely with users to solve problems and make our applications even better.
Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2/3 support for production incidents in highly sensitive financial environments, often across multiple global sites
- Enhance the AS400 system by developing new process, and refreshing existing process to ensure optimal performance.
- Lead the design and development of critical post-trade applications used for trade matching, settlement, and payment processing.
- Automate and streamline complex post-execution operations, including trade booking, intercompany settlements, and connectivity to global exchanges or clearing houses.
- Lead initiatives to integrate legacy AS/400 applications with modern platforms using APIs, web services, or middleware like IBM App Connect Enterprise.
- Ensure systems meet stringent regulatory requirements for data integrity, security, and disaster recovery.
- Coordinate overall testing, approval and deployment of new enhancements, including post-deployment verifications.
- Handle ad-hoc tasks such as generating reports and providing custom data analysis upon request.
- Keep an eye of application's performance, identify areas for improvement, and take proactive steps to prevent future issues.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in technical support with trading or financial services applications.
- Expert-level proficiency in implementing and managing AS400 systems.
- Advanced knowledge of DB2/400, complex SQL concepts, and data mapping for financial transactions.
- Deep understanding of capital markets, custody, clearing, and post-trade settlement cycles.
- Experience with high-availability tools, backup/recovery, and system performance tuning.
- Familiarity with SWIFT messaging standards and integration protocols like MQ.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team in a dynamic environment.
- Keen interest in financial markets.
