Architectural Works Site Engineer or Supervisor:
Job Description
We are looking for an individual with great architectural experience for the position of Site engineer or supervisor for our daily operations. The candidate will work directly under the project manager, managing clients, workers and all other stakeholders throughout the construction phase of various architectural works.
Reporting to the Project Managers, the candidate will be responsible for constructing, managing and coordinating site-related works with the client, RE/RTO, and the workers to perform the architectural work in the strictest compliance with the drawing, specification and contract documents. This role is focused on design and working in the field where necessary, managing our own workers, read and understand drawings, plan works, progress, materials and machinery, and will report directly to the project Manager. This candidate should understand all aspects of architectural and interior design construction in relation to designing and executing works on-site.
It is expected that the candidate will be detail-oriented and can manage and communicate with workers very well. There will be a significant amount of hands-on works, reading and understanding the architectural drawings, guiding the workers on construction, designing the interior decoration works, coordinating with contractors in the field while installing all aspects of the project architectural and interior finishing works. The candidate must have robust EQ skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client in various backgrounds, the workers, the managers, the RE/RTO, and subcontractors etc. of all tiers and vendors and immediately establish trust and confidence in his/her ability.
Responsibilities:
- Represent the Company in the utmost professional manner while constantly embracing honesty, integrity, and truth
- Independently carry out various interior designing works, produce 3D models, drawings for production and client confirmation
- Directly guiding and managing workers in executing the construction works
- Reading, understanding the architectural drawings very well, be able to produce material schedule for carpentry works, plan and arrange manpower and various materials, be able to manage the works assigned
- Comply with the various requirements of the company
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, architectural and interior systems interrelationships, construction sequencing, and project schedule
- Attend daily job site safety meetings and perform weekly project safety audits
- Work with the project safety team to ensure all works are being carried out to the highest levels of safety
- Coordinate with on-site Resident Technical Officers (RTOs) and Resident Engineers( REs) for all required inspections and work verification where necessary
- Develop look-ahead schedules and assist the Construction managers in long range planning of manpower, materials and other resources
- Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and various contractors during construction
- Work closely with the project and construction Managers to lead logistics of all works, tools and materials
- Working knowledge of all structural, architectural and interior systems in a building and construction project
- Log and post all architectural and interior changes and as-built information on field drawings.
- Ensure all information is current and communicated with the project team
- Liaise with the client, supervisory engineers, inspectors and relevant staff
- Knowledge and ability to use AutoCAD, Sketchup and Revit to produce 3D, construction/ shop drawings when necessary
- Ensure that all work done are adhere to relevant quality documentation/records
Qualifications
- Diploma in ID design, art design or relevant
- Architectural or ID construction supervisor or engineer background. Good at architectural works, ID works, schedudling, and coordinate with other M&E works
- 1.5+ years of architectural / ID site engineer / supervisor experiences with hands on ability to teach workers
- Experience in ID and architectural works for both public and private housing works.
- ID working knowledge of plans, engineering drawings, specifications and schematics associated with the architectural works
- Computer literacy. Significant experience with Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit and other computer based 2D and 3D tools
- Strong leadership and excellent communication and organizational skills in managing workers and various stakeholders
