The Site Architect is responsible for overseeing architectural works on-site for MRT stations, tunnels, and associated facilities. The role ensures that construction activities comply with approved architectural drawings, specifications, safety standards, and authority requirements. The Site Architect coordinates closely with engineers, sub-contractors, and consultants to maintain quality, design intent, and project timelines.
Supervise architectural works on-site including finishes, station structures, entrances, and public areas.
Ensure construction is carried out according to approved architectural drawings and specifications.
Coordinate with civil, structural, and MEP teams to resolve interface issues.
Attend site meetings, coordination meetings, and technical discussions.
Review shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements from contractors.
Ensure compliance with design intent, contract documents, and regulatory requirements.
Work with the design consultants to resolve design discrepancies or site constraints.
Conduct inspections to ensure workmanship meets quality standards.
Monitor installation of architectural finishes (cladding, tiling, ceilings, doors, signage, etc.).
Prepare site inspection reports and non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary.
Ensure works comply with guidelines from authorities such as the Land Transport Authority, Building and Construction Authority, and Singapore Civil Defence Force.
Verify that fire safety, accessibility, and public safety requirements are implemented properly.
Maintain records of drawings, RFIs, site instructions, and approvals.
Review and track architectural RFIs and design changes.
Prepare progress reports and contribute to project documentation.
Liaise with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and authorities.
Support design coordination between architectural and engineering disciplines.
Participate in inspections with consultants and client representatives.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent.
Registered with or eligible for registration with the Board of Architects Singapore (preferred).
Minimum 3-8 years of relevant site experience in infrastructure or large-scale building projects.
Experience in rail or underground projects is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of architectural detailing and construction methods.
Familiarity with MRT station design standards and public infrastructure requirements.
Ability to read and coordinate multidisciplinary drawings.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and construction documentation.
