Architectural Designer, Parametrics

Job purpose:

Take a leading role in shaping and delivering complex, design-led projects across Asia Pacific (APAC), while driving the strategic growth and technical excellence of our parametric design capabilities in Singapore. You will combine design leadership, technical expertise, and team mentorship to elevate project outcomes across APAC.

2. Key duties and responsibilities

• Champion design innovation through advanced computational methods, ensuring design intent is rigorously explored and realised.
• Collaborate closely with project directors, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to influence key design decisions and project direction.
• Translate complex design ideas into high-quality diagrams, models, visualisations, and documentation suitable for client and stakeholder engagement.
• Drive the adoption of emerging technologies (including AI and automation) to enhance design processes, efficiency, and creativity.
• Mentor and develop junior designers, fostering a culture of learning, curiosity, and technical excellence within the studio.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including design competitions, client presentations, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Produce diagrams, drawings, and perspectives that communicate design intent with clarity and creativity.
• Collaborate with senior architects and designers, learning from an experienced, multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in design discussions, bringing a curious, problem-solving mindset to complex challenges.
• Time management and communication with Project Architect of assigned tasks and deliverables.
• Attend office meetings, team briefings and openly communicate and provide reports to Project Architect on a regular basis regarding the progress of individual tasks under their responsibility.
• Assist in the maintenance of office systems including updating of the Integrated Management System (IMS previously Quality Assurance).
• At all times ensure the safety of yourself, other team members, clients and visitors at workplace or site locations.
• Develop an awareness of and follow all current Policies and Procedures for the location, region and global practice.

3. Essential Qualifications (Education & Experience)

Required:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Architecture (Master's preferred or equivalent professional qualification).
• 8+ years professional experience within leading architectural practices, with demonstrated leadership on complex projects.
• Advanced experience in parametric and computational design (Rhino and Grasshopper essential scripting knowledge highly regarded).
• Proven ability to lead design packages or project stages, balancing creativity with technical and delivery requirements.
• Demonstrated experience integrating digital tools, including AI-driven processes, into design workflows.

4. Knowledge, skills, & competencies (technical or behavioral)

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to clients and leading internal design reviews.
• A track record of mentoring teams and fostering collaborative, high-performing studio environments.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to align design innovation with commercial and project outcomes.
• Experience working across the APAC region or within international design environments.
• A proactive leadership style with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Passion for advancing design technology, research, and practice-wide innovation.
• Strong design focus and eye.
• English language proficiency.
• Demonstrated capability in Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape/Veris, and AI systems such as Midjourney, Nano‑Banana, or equivalent.
• Sound technical knowledge of architectural project delivery. Demonstrable skills in the areas of design, presentation, documentation and/or delivery.
• Demonstrable skills using Microsoft Office products and presentation software.
• High level skill in written, verbal and non-verbal communication for report writing, presentations and discussions with team members.
