Job Description

ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT / DESIGNER (FULL-TIME POSITION)

  • Experience: 2-5 Years (Singapore local experience preferred, fresh graduate may be considered)

About the Role This comprehensive architectural role offers full-spectrum project exposure to develop your expertise and prepare you for the Professional Practice Examination (PPE). Unlike segmented roles in larger firms, you will gain hands-on experience across design, authority submission, coordination, and contract administration, building practical skills essential for professional registration. You will work directly under a Qualified Person (QP) with over 17 years of industry experience, including a decade at one of Singapore's largest architectural practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of Design Development and Tender documentation to support project milestones and client requirements
  • Produce detailed construction drawings and coordinated drawing packages ensuring accuracy, buildability, and interdisciplinary alignment
  • Assist in preparing specifications and schedules to guide construction and procurement processes
  • Coordinate and submit regulatory documents to the Urban Redevelopment Authority, Building and Construction Authority, and Singapore Civil Defence Force, ensuring compliance with Development Control and Building Regulations
  • Liaise effectively with the Qualified Person (QP), consultants, and authorities to address comments and revise submissions promptly
  • Track submission timelines and approval statuses to maintain project schedules and regulatory compliance
  • Attend client and consultant meetings, document minutes, and facilitate communication across project stakeholders
  • Coordinate architectural works with Civil & Structural (C&S) and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, identify technical discrepancies, and assist in contract administration using SIA / REDAS forms
  • Review shop drawings and material submissions under guidance to verify compliance with design intent and specifications
  • Ensure adherence to Development Control Guidelines, Building Control Regulations, and Fire Code requirements to mitigate compliance risks
  • Assist in preparing technical justifications, waivers, or appeal submissions to resolve regulatory challenges
  • Identify potential compliance risks early and propose practical solutions to maintain project integrity and timelines

In Summary This role encompasses the complete architectural workflow from concept to completion, designed to develop strong technical competency and professional maturity. You will gain a holistic understanding of architectural projects in Singapore, working beyond a single function to contribute meaningfully to project success.
