This is not going to be just another research role. We will need you to be flexible with your job scope, which includes working closely with our engineers to bring research into production, contributing to product and research direction alongside management, raising the research bar across the team, and then some.

- Build evaluation suites that measure model reliability and groundedness on regulated, high-stakes data
- Work alongside engineers to bring NLP research into production-grade pipelines

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
Skills & Traits We're Looking For
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
- Strong paper writing skills
- Solid Python experience
- Experience with RAG pipelines, vector stores, or LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex)
- Solid understanding of embeddings, tokenisation, attention mechanisms, and fine-tuning workflows
- Git, Docker, Linux familiarity
- Self-starter mindset - comfortable moving in ambiguity
What You'll Do
1. NLP Research for Regulated Domains
- Design and run experiments on LLM behaviour in compliance, claims, risk, onboarding and more
- Deploy domain-tuned RAG, fine-tuned models, and secure NLP pipelines
- Write and publish papers to reputable conferences or journals
2. Evaluation & Benchmarking
- Build internal evaluation suites to measure model accuracy, groundedness, and robustness
- Define metrics that matter in regulated settings — beyond perplexity and BLEU
- Run systematic ablations and report findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
3. Client Collaboration
- Sit alongside business, compliance, and tech teams inside the client
- Shape requirements, validate assumptions, and ship iteratively
4. Stay Connected with Pints AI's Engineering Team
- Share research findings and prototypes with engineers for productionisation
- Contribute to internal tools and open-source libraries between client delivery cycles
