At ORIGIN Exterminators, we believe pest management is more than just a service-it's a science. We are looking for someone who is passionate about ecology, insect biology, and sustainability to join our team as an Applied Ecologist / Entomologist. Whether you're an experienced entomologist or an environmentally curious individual with a science background, we're keen to work with someone who wants to make a difference in how pest issues are tackled in urban environments.
This in-person role is ideal for someone who enjoys fieldwork, scientific inquiry, and is excited about integrating technology and innovation-including IoT solutions-into traditional pest management frameworks.
You'll work on complex pest-related challenges across a variety of settings, including hospitals, hotels, commercial kitchens, and food manufacturing plants, helping to create safer, healthier spaces for Singapore's communities.
What You'll Be Doing
. Carry out Service Quality Audits at client sites to drive continuous service improvement in healthcare, hospitality, and industrial environments.
. Develop and grow the Food Manufacturing Division, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable best practices.
. Lead account management for food manufacturing clients, working closely with operations to deliver results.
. Write detailed identification reports with data-driven recommendations for pest control and prevention.
. Conduct literature reviews and field research to understand pest biology and behavior in tropical environments.
. Evaluate outcomes of pest control programs
. Deliver technical training to internal teams on pest biology, control strategies, and technological advancements.
. Use and help develop IoT-based monitoring systems (like RATSENSE) that support data-driven decision-making in pest control.
. Lead the quality assurance team on pest trending reports.
Who We're Looking For
We welcome both experienced entomologists and passionate early-career professionals. If you don't yet have an entomology qualification, ORIGIN will support you through certification.
Required:
Singaporean or PR (due to fieldwork and operational needs)
Preferred 2 years experience in pest management, bioscience, or related fields
Degree in Bioscience, Environmental Science, Ecology, or Entomology (or equivalent experience)
Interest in insect biology, environmental health, or applied ecology
Analytical and inquisitive with strong observational skills
Comfortable working on-site and interacting with clients
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Keen interest in innovation, digital tools, and sustainability
Desirable (but not essential):
Prior experience with IoT tools
Familiarity with public health and food safety standards (e.g. NEA, SFA)
Certification in Urban Entomology or Pest Management (training provided if not yet certified)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (Day Shift) occasional after-hours work depending on project needs
Location: Based in Singapore, with on-site fieldwork across island-wide locations
