Role Overview

As an Applied AI Scientist at the Global Impact AI Lab, you will design and develop AI systems that operate at the intersection of advanced foundation models and enterprise data environments to address real customer use cases across industrial and commercial verticals.

This role sits at the intersection of applied AI research, rapid prototyping, and customer engagement. You will work closely with our Go-To-Market (GTM) team to identify high-impact AI opportunities, translate them into technical strategies, and drive solutions from concept to deployment.

Operating in a 01 environment, you will leverage state-of-the-art vision, language, and multimodal foundation models to rapidly build demos and proof-of-concepts that validate customer value. This includes customizing and fine-tuning cutting-edge models, developing agentic systems that orchestrate reasoning and decision-making, bridging technical gaps for domain-specific requirements, and iterating quickly based on real-world feedback.

Beyond customer-facing innovation, you will play a critical role in developing in-house AI capabilities that become foundational to our platform strategy. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to transition validated solutions into scalable, production-ready systems deployed across cloud and hybrid environments.

This role requires deep technical expertise and strong executive presence. You will engage directly with customer stakeholders, including C-level executives, presenting technical solutions, articulating AI value propositions, and shaping strategic AI roadmaps with clarity and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of AI solutions for real-world customer use cases, partnering with the GTM team to identify and shape high-value AI opportunities
• Operate in a 01 capacity building demos, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts that validate technical feasibility and business impact
• Leverage and customize state-of-the-art vision, language, and multimodal foundation models to address domain-specific challenges
• Design, develop, and deploy agentic systems that orchestrate reasoning, decision-making, and workflow automation across enterprise environments
• Build intelligent workflows that convert structured and unstructured signals into insights and actions.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate validated capabilities into scalable platform components
• Engage directly with senior and C-level stakeholders, presenting AI strategies and technical roadmaps with clarity and confidence

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong background in deep learning, computer vision, NLP, and/or multimodal modeling
• Experience training, fine-tuning, or adapting foundation models
• Experience building and deploying agentic AI systems
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch for model development and experimentation
• Experience deploying AI systems into production environments (cloud or edge) is highly valued
• Ability to move quickly and iterate efficiently with customers through demos and prototypes
• Excellent communication and presentation skill
