Job Summary
The Applications Engineer is the technical bridge between our customers and our equipment. You will run sample evaluations and demonstrations, train customers on our tools, support pre-sales and post-sales activities, and feed customer needs back to our R&D team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct failure analysis sample evaluations and demonstrations for customers both in-house and on-site to support technical understanding and decision-making
- Prepare detailed evaluation reports, application notes, and technical presentations to communicate findings and solutions effectively
- Provide pre-sales technical support by assessing customer requirements, recommending suitable system configurations, and assisting with proposals and tenders
- Deliver comprehensive customer training on system operation, analysis techniques, and best practices to enhance user proficiency
- Support installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing of systems at customer sites to ensure proper setup and functionality
- Troubleshoot application-related issues by collaborating with Service and R&D teams to resolve problems efficiently
- Collect and analyze customer feedback and market requirements to contribute ideas for product improvements and new features
- Represent the company at trade shows, seminars, and technical workshops in Singapore and the region to promote products and engage with customers
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
- Three years of experience in failure analysis, semiconductor process/product engineering, or applications support for analytical equipment fresh graduates with strong relevant project experience may be considered
- Familiarity with failure analysis techniques and tools such as optical/emission microscopy, X-ray, acoustic microscopy, thermal/laser-based fault isolation, sample preparation, decapsulation, SEM/EDX, and electrical characterization
- Comfortable working hands-on with hardware, optics, and software
- Strong communication and presentation skills to explain technical concepts clearly to customers
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple customer requests, and travel regionally
