Applications Business Analyst

The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in connecting business needs with effective technology and design solutions. This role involves analysing business processes, identifying optimisation opportunities, and ensuring seamless communication between stakeholders, including IT and UI/UX teams, to drive successful project outcomes and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather and document detailed business requirements.

• Analyse current workflows and business processes, identifying areas for optimisation and improvement.

• Develop clear business analysis documentation such as functional specifications, process flows, and user stories.

• Work closely with IT teams, UI/UX designers, and project managers to translate business needs into workable technical and design solutions.

• Facilitate discussions, meetings, and presentations to communicate analysis findings, recommendations, and project progress.

• Support system or process implementations, ensuring alignment with business goals and user experience standards.

• Perform data analysis to generate insights for business decision-making.

• Track project progress, manage potential risks, and resolve issues to ensure timely delivery.

• Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and contribute to post-implementation reviews.

• Collaborate with UI/UX teams to ensure business requirements are accurately reflected in prototypes, wireframes, and user journeys.

• Leverage the ability to read Java code to better understand system behaviours, logic flows, and integration impacts.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, ideally within a dynamic environment.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with high attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience working across cross-functional teams including UI/UX.

• Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Figma, BPMN, process mapping).

• Familiarity with reading Java code to support analysis and collaboration with technical teams.

• Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall is advantageous.

• Highly organised with strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
