Application Support Engineer (Oracle ADF)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a driven and technically capable Application Support Engineer to join our enterprise systems team. In this role, you will act as a software detective - analysing, diagnosing, and resolving issues across multiple components of mission-critical business systems built on Oracle technologies.

You will be expected to work independently, grow into a subject matter expert, and actively contribute to team discussions. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on Oracle Forms, Oracle ADF, PL/SQL, and legacy application support.

Key Responsibilities

. Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues across multiple components of critical business systems, acting as a subject matter expert over time.

. Perform independently while actively participating in and contributing to team discussions with well-reasoned solutions.

. Analyse system performance and identify opportunities for improvement across Oracle application environments.

. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system functionality and ensure seamless integrations.

. Document troubleshooting processes, root cause analyses, and solutions in a structured, reusable format.

. Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members on system updates, patches, and configuration changes.

. Stay current with Oracle ecosystem trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain optimal system performance.

. Support the modernisation of legacy Oracle applications and their integration with newer platforms and services.

Primary Skillsets

. Strong proficiency in Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports development, including form triggers, built-in procedures, libraries, and runtime configuration.

. Hands-on experience with Oracle ADF (Application Development Framework) for building and maintaining web-based enterprise applications.

. Solid expertise in PL/SQL programming, including Oracle Database schema design, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning.

. Proven experience supporting or modernising legacy Oracle applications and integrating them with newer platforms.

. Good understanding of SDLC, Agile practices, and structured testing methodologies.

. Experience deploying and troubleshooting applications in environments using WebLogic or equivalent Oracle middleware technologies.
