Role Summary
We are looking for an Application Support Engineer with experience in Java/J2EE applications and production support environments. The role involves supporting web applications, troubleshooting production issues, monitoring batch jobs, and ensuring application stability while meeting defined SLAs. Candidates with strong technical fundamentals and willingness to learn will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide application and production support for Java/J2EE-based applications.
- Monitor and troubleshoot web applications, batch jobs, and system-related issues.
- Execute Unix/Linux commands and SQL queries for issue analysis and resolution.
- Support application deployments, incident management, and defect resolution activities.
- Work with technologies such as JBOSS, MariaDB, SQL, and Shell scripting.
- Coordinate with development and infrastructure teams for issue resolution and enhancements.
- Ensure SLA compliance with high-quality support delivery.
- Support job scheduling, MQ setup, and related operational activities.
- Perform root cause analysis and provide timely fixes for production issues.
- Maintain documentation and support knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and business processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Application Support or Java Development.
- Good understanding of Java/J2EE applications and support environments.
- Hands-on experience with SQL queries and Linux/Unix commands.
- Exposure to JBOSS, MariaDB, Shell scripting, and batch job support.
- Knowledge of job scheduling, MQ setup, or C:D setup is an added advantage.
- Banking or financial domain exposure is a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn and ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
