We're Hiring: Application Support Engineer – Commodities

Singapore | On-site

My client is a world-class global hedge fund with a deeply technology-driven culture, enabling sophisticated trading strategies across global markets. They are expanding their Commodities business and is looking to hire a experienced Commodities Application SupportEngineer to join their front office team.

You'll sit at the heart of the trading floor, partnering directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Analysts, while owning and supporting business-critical systems across the entire trade lifecycle — from front office through to middle/back office.

What You'll Do

• Provide L2/L3 support for mission-critical trading, risk, analytics, and market data platforms
• Support front-to-back commodities systems, including integrations across trading, risk, and operations
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and automate application & infrastructure alerts to ensure maximum uptime and stability
• Partner closely with PMs, Traders, and Analysts to resolve issues and enhance workflows
• Drive continuous improvements, assess business risk, and prioritise system enhancements
• Collaborate with global teams across US, Europe, and Asia, including out-of-hours support on a rotation
• Work with external vendors and internal dev teams to deliver strategic solutions

Core Requirements

• Python, SQL, Unix/Shell scripting (must-have)
• Experience with market data platforms (e.g. BPIPE, Trayport) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace)
• Exposure to CTRM/ETRM platforms (e.g. Endur) is highly advantageous
• Familiarity with cloud/DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS) is a plus
• Strong understanding of Commodities markets (energy, metals, or physicals preferred)
• Experience supporting trading systems / front office users in a hedge fund, bank, or trading house
• Solid knowledge of the trade lifecycle and risk/PnL concepts
