Paeonia Group is now expanding its commercial operations in the quantum technology sector, acting as a regional distributor and solutions partner for acurated portfolio of leading quantum computing hardware manufacturers. The Sales & Service Engineer will be a key commercial and technical face of this business unit, responsible for driving product sales and delivering high-quality pre- and post-sales technical support to research institutions,national laboratories, universities, and enterprise customers across Asia-Pacific.
Primary Responsibilities and Objectives:
Technical Application Support & Customer Success
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers using quantum computing systems distributed by Paeonia.
- Conduct in-depth technical discussions with clients regarding quantum hardware setups, including cryogenic infrastructure, qubit control electronics, signal routing, and photonic systems. Deliver product demonstrations, proof-of-concept support, and application-specific guidance to help customers evaluate and adopt quantum hardware solutions.
- Support customers in developing proof-of-concept implementations and pilot projects that demonstrate quantum advantage or quantum-accelerated workflows for their specific use cases.
- Translate complex quantum engineering requirements into suitable product configurations and system architectures sourced from the Paeonia quantum hardware portfolio.
- Liaise closely with manufacturer engineering teams to resolve customer technical queries and ensure solution compatibility across multi-vendor quantum stacks.
- Develop and maintain application notes, technical datasheets, and customer-facing collateral to support the sales process.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at research institutes, universities, national laboratories, government agencies, and enterprise quantum teams.
- Represent Paeonia at quantum computing conferences, trade shows, and industry events to develop leads and stay abreast of market developments.
Customer Onboarding & After-Sales Service
- Lead technical onboarding of new customers, including system setup, software installation, environment configuration, and initial hands-on training sessions.
- Coordinate and oversee product installation, commissioning, and integration support at customer sites, working alongside manufacturer field engineers where required.
- Develop and deliver customer training sessions and workshops on product operation, maintenance, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, customer feedback, and product performance issues, feeding insights back to manufacturer partners to support product improvement
Requirements:
- PhD's or Master's degree from a leading university in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Applied Physics, or closely related field.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in quantum computing research, quantum algorithm development, or technical support roles within the quantum technology ecosystem.
- Hands-on laboratory or engineering experience with cryogenic quantum hardware, RF/microwave control systems, or photonic quantum devices.
- Strong working knowledge of quantum computing fundamentals including quantum gates, circuits, quantum algorithms (VQE, QAOA, Grover, Shor), and quantum error mitigation techniques. Advanced proficiency in Python and experience with at least one quantum computing framework (Qiskit, Cirq,Perceval, Quantify, PennyLane, or similar).
- Familiarity with quantum hardware architectures, including superconducting qubits, photonic quantum systems, and associated control electronics (e.g., Qblox, Zurich Instruments).
